Calcium Cloride (CaCl2) Health Hazards
- Calcium Chloride is irritating and needs to be handled with gloves.
- Calcium Chloride is relatively safe to handle, but if ingested, it reacts exothermically with water and can cause burning of the mouth or esophagus.
- Calcium chloride is also recommended for the treatment of acute hyperkalemia, hypermagnesemia, and calcium-channel blocker overdose.
