Microsilica amount and method of using in concrete
Microsilica amount of fume used in concrete depends on what concrete is to be made. In general, the consumption of Microsilica in concrete should be between 3 to 15% of the weight of cement (which should be reduced by the same amount of weight of cement). The amount of use of Microsilica to achieve durability and sealing in concrete is from 3 to 10% of the weight of cement. For example, 7% is a relatively good number. The amount of Microsilica used to achieve strength in concrete is from 5 to 17% of the weight of cement. For example, 12% is a good number. However, in order to achieve specific goals in concrete using Microsilica fume, laboratory and workshop tests must be performed and then the exact number of uses of Microsilica in concrete must be determined. In some cases it has been reported that the use of microsilica more than 20% by weight of cement reduces the strength!
