Bitumen 60/70

Bitumen 60/70 is a type of penetrating bitumen. Infiltration bitumens or road grade, which are mostly used for asphalt production in the road construction industry, are obtained by performing an aeration process on the bottom of the distillation tower, known as vacuum baton, so that its permeability is between 60 and 70. Condition  depends on its temperature. The relationship between temperature and hardness of bitumen depends on the type of crude oil and its refining method, and the degree of permeability of this bitumen is between 6 to 7 mm, a degree of semi-hard permeability and as a heavy bitumen and suitable for road construction and repair.

Bitumen 60/70 application

Bitumen 60/70, vast majority used in asphalt for road construction is. That is why this type of bitumen is known as carpet grade. In road projects around the world, they mix this grade of bitumen with aggregates to heat asphalt and pave the road. It is very popular in India and Southeast Africa because of the quality. It is acceptable and the price is not too high. By increasing the performance of the final asphalt and treating cracks during maintenance, It is recognized as a cost-effective solution that reduces costs, without compromising quality.

Another application is in the production of polymer modified bitumen. In the production of PMBs, we add special polymers  to improve its properties including elasticity, brittleness and softening, which is essential for better performance of the asphalt mix.

Bitumen 60/70 is supplying in different packages including standard export barrels of 160 kg, standard export barrels of 190 kg, standard export barrels of 210 kg and standard export barrels of 240 kg, as well as packaging in molds. Also, it is supplying in flexi in high volumes and packaging on pallets as well as bulk bitumen
