Methyl Acetate

Methyl acetate is a clear, colorless liquid with a common ester odor similar to nail polish removers and adhesives. The flash point  is -10 degrees Celsius and its degree of flammability is very high. The solubility  in water at room temperature is 25%, and its solubility in water increases with increasing temperature. Methyl acetate is not stable in the presence of strong aqueous bases or aqueous acids.

Applications

Methyl acetate using as a flavoring agent in food additives, in adhesives, cleaning products, personal care products and used in cosmetics, lubricants, fast-drying paints such as varnishes, It is also using in motor vehicle coatings, furniture coatings and veneers industrial, resin, artificial leather oil and electronic products are used. The main consumer markets are paint, coating, cosmetics, textile and motor industries.
