PEG 4000
PEG 4000 (Polyethylene Glycol 4000) is a molecular grade of polyethylene glycol. It is a waxy solid with a melting point of approximately 60°C. Due to its low toxicity, It is widely used in various pharmaceutical formulations. Polyethylene glycols are produced from liquid ethylene oxide and water and have different derivatives.
PEG 4000 Applications
PEG 4000 is commonly used to thicken mild amphoteric surfactant systems such as baby shampoos, facial cream scrubs, lotion facial cleansers, body shampoos, body scrubs, and shaving foams. The use of product in colored cosmetic products plays a significant role as an auxiliary emulsifier. Polyethylene glycol 4000 is used in shampoo, body shampoo or foam. As a lubricant for tablets and capsules, makes it easier for patients to swallow.
It is used as a matrix in medicine, cosmetics and health industries. To adjust viscosity and melting point. It is using as a lubricant and cooling agent in metal processing industries. In the industry of pesticides and pigments, using as a dispersant and emulsifier. Useas an anti-static agent in the textile industry.
