Ferric Chloride is a type of mineral coagulant and is one of the most widely used coagulants and is sold in powder, liquid or crystallized form. After reacting with calcium bicarbonate or calcium hydroxide, this substance creates iron(III) hydroxide, which is a center for the accumulation of colloidal substances. Among the uses of Ferric Chloride, the following can be mentioned:

1) Ferric Chloride in Wastewater treatment: using Ferric Chloride improves the efficiency of primary treatment of wastewater, dephosphorization, separation of heavy metals, Ferric Chloride using as color removal and removal of H2S unpleasant smell.

2) Ferric Chloride in Purification of drinking water: the use of Ferric Chloride intensifies coagulation, reduces turbidity and controls the color of water.

3)Ferric Chloride in Sludge treatment: Ferric Chloride using for intensifying the water absorption of sludge, reducing the consumption of polymers, reducing the cost of sludge disposal,Ferric Chloride using for  odor control and improving the efficiency of sludge making are among the uses of this substance.
